What topic have you settled on, and why? For what audience(s) and purpose(s) might you design this project? What sources might you draw on? What genres might you use to represent your work? Post your responses at the top of your personal page.
I have settled on Sensory/Auditory Processing Disorder. My major is Elemetary and Special Education and I think that this would help me to understand a lot about learning disabilities in the field. My boyfriend also has this disorder and I have never really understood how hard it is to succeed in school with this disorder. I think that if I learn more about it and see it from a different perspective it may help me. I think that I will design this project to the audience of students from freshman in high school to seniors in college. This is a more involved topic and it may benefit others who have this or know of people who have this, but at an appropriate age level to do something about it. I think that the purpose of this project will be to inform others about this disorder. This will help people who have it to be able to find ways around the disorder to learn better and people who don't have it to possibly understand and help others who do. I will use sources from the internet, interviews with people who have it, one-on-one talks with people who have the disorder, doctor's views on it and special education teachers who try to help students with it. The genres that I will use to represent my work are a diary entry, interview, letter, college application, quiz on math material, illustration, and website.

Thoughts: I found out a lot about the way that people with Sensory Processing Disorder act. I always thought that they were only disabled in learning, but the disorder actually affects their attitudes and behavior as well. I found out a different way to research based on different websites.
