Synthesis- I made up a public relations firm called Ubloom PR which is preparing a packet of promotional materials to send to Grandin. All the genres will be together in a binder and the binder will be in a box addressed to Temple Grandin. I also made a logo for the PR firm which I included throughout my project. The first genre will be a business letter to Grandin describing the projects, genres and purpose. Models-
I am from Clearfield, Pennsylvania which is about 40 miles outside of State College or two hours from Bloomsburg. My major is Early Childhood and Special Education. I am sure that this profession will provide me with both daily challenges and personal gratification. What got me interested in majoring in education was some of the volunteer work that I did in high school.
I was a second grade religious education teacher at my church and volunteered at a daycare in my home town. Volunteering for my local hospital gave me the opportunity to participate in a grief camp for kids. At the Special Olympics held in my community each year, I was able to work with the athletes and observed the challenges that they experience. These are some of my past experiences that have brought me to the realization that teaching children is especially meaningful for me.
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime,” is a saying that illustrates why I feel teaching is a profession that will allow me to help people in a meaningful and rewarding way.
