Use your process journal and the stages of your project saved on your personal page as you reflect on what you've learned:
--about your topic? what surprised you?
I have learned ALOT about inclusion in the classroom. I learned that people are unaware that this is even an issue in the educational community, and that others just fail to recognise that this is a huge debate for teachers, administrators, and parents. I was introduced to multiple viewpoints and legislative steps throughout my reasearch and was surprised to find out that many politicians whom are not inclusion advocates choose to avoid direct questioning about why.
--about writing? what steps of this process were especially difficult or rewarding for you?
I learned that writing is more than just an essay, that writting could be categorized into millions of different genres and explained in such unique ways. The ROMP project was difficult for me at first because I was use to concrete directions, grades, and feedback. At first, the characteristics and criteria was extemely hard to get the hang of, but after working in the peer review sessions, I was able to better put the project together.
--about teaching? do you see yourself using multigenre with your future students? why or why not?
I learned that teaching is not a one-way street. Teaching has many different approaches, and accomodations that can be taken/made. I can see myself using the idea of the multigenre project to suit the needs of an elementary classroom.

I have chosen to do my project on inclusion. Inclusion is the act of combining students with exceptionalities with students without exceptionalities in one classroom learning the same lessons. I chose this topic because I am studying to become a special education teacher and I think this is a huge topic within the field. The audiesnce I am targeting is administration, the purpose of this is because they are the people that need to understand why this is important in the growth of students both with and without exceptionalities. As far as sources, I was thinking some peer-edited journals, an interview, solid documents, IEP's, parents opinions, and a movie clip.
