\nHow did genre, audience, and purpose figure in those processes?
\n
\nWhen I tried to teach my roommate a dance which corresponded to a song, my purpose was to have her successfully perform this song and dance, which showed me that she actually learned it. The audience of this dance when I was teaching my roommate was my roommate and when we were both dancing, there was no audience. You could say that my roommate and myselves were our own audience because we were doing the dances for our own benefit and entertainment. The genre of this dance was definately comedy and entertainment.
\n
\nThe purpose of my healthy meal research and presentation was to teach the class what a healthy meal was, along with prices of ingredients and the sections of the food pyramid. The audience was the Comp 1 class, along with Mr. Sherry. The genre for this presentation was informative because we were informing the class about a healthy meal under $5 which could serve 2-3 people.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"26715049","dateCreated":"1283817084","smartDate":"Sep 6, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"Annaliese.Berkenstock","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/Annaliese.Berkenstock","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/sherrycomp10a.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/26715049"},"dateDigested":1532252786,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Teaching someone based on multiple intelligences","description":"I taught my roommate a dance to a song that I made up myself. Using bodily kinesthetics and the musical style I was able to teach my roommate Christine how to dance along with a song. Bodily kinesthetics uses the body to take action and appreciate and use the functions of the body. Musical style is the ability to respond to music in a creative way. By teaching this song to Christine she was able to use her body with the flow of the music, while at the same time responding in a creative way to each beat. During this lesson, it was very difficult for my roommate to coordinate her body with the dance moves. Some of the moves required extreme flexibility so Christine was unable to perform some of the moves. This would be a lack in the Bodily Kinesthetic style. Using the music beat to teach Christine the moves was easier for her because all she had to do was learn them. Although it was hard for her at first to actually perform the moves, she did understand which moves went with what words because the moves matched what the words in the song were saying. The inability for Christine to perform the certain moves was definately frusterating for me because its hard to show someone how to do something when it comes easy to me. It was definately hard for Christine because she got frusterated with herself and she had a lack of self confidence. But I tried to reassure her that she would be able to do it, and eventually after a little bit of patient teaching, she was. We both really enjoyed how we were able to have fun while teaching at the same time, and that made the whole experience rewarding even though it was frusterating at times. The evidence that I had that Christine learned the lesson was when she was able to complete the song movements with the song successfully. We were eventually able to combine our bodies and our musical techniques to complete the song and dance.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
