    FINAL REFLECTION:
I learned a lot about cyber bullying through this project. Not only did I learn how it affected the victim's life, but I also learned how the bully was feeling too. You would be surprised to learn that the bullies are actually the self-concious ones most of the time. I saw how cyber bullying is growing in todays society, and there is yet a way to figure out how to stop it. I was very surprised at the lengths many children will go, if they are being bullied. Of course, you only really hear about the cases where the victim ended up committing suicide, but you hear a lot of those cases, which made me very nervous for the future of cyber bullying, as it continues to grow.
I found that, in the beginning of this semester, I was extremely nervous and confused on how to put my whole project together, especially having "subtopics" of Megan Meier and Phoebe Prince. I did not want to make my project all about them, because I wanted to really show how cyber bullying can affect anyone who has a computer and at least just one social network, even just email. I was unsure of how to create my own story, while educating the audience of the Megan Meier case. Once I finally figured out how to piece it all together with the online diary entries, I was very pleased and proud of myself for finally making my project come into full circle. One thing I found difficult about writing some of my genres, was having to sound depressed. I have personally never been bullied, (except by my older brother, but thats typical) so I was unsure of how to write some of my pieces using a "depressed" girls tone of voice. I found the suicide letter in the end to be very difficult to write.
As a future teacher, I can definitely see myself using multigenres with my future students. According to Gardner, each child has multiple intelligences, and ever child learns differently. I can see how that is true, as I am a visual learner, and other students might be a auditory learner. I believe that the multigenre projects bring a story to each topic, which I feel brings a personal touch to each topic. Using this with students will allow them to further their understanding of the topic, by seeing it in many different ways, and possibly connecting to one way, to help them learn the material better.

Nov. 10- So far, I have finalized how my project will be presented and how it will fit all together. I am going to make it into a girls online diary and have each genre be a piece of information she either learned or went through with cyber bullying. Now that I have a set project, I have to finalize each genre of mine to make it more grammatical correct, or look more realistic. I am very pleased with my whole project, because at first I was really unsure of how I was going to piece it all together. I am concerned about making each piece look realistic and making my packaging look like a computer.

September 22, 2010- What topic have you settled on, and why? For what audience(s) and purpose(s) might you design this project? What sources might you draw on? What genres might you use to represent your work? Post your responses at the top of your personal page.
I have decided to research the Cyber-bullying of Megan Meier/Phoebe Prince for my project. I chose this topic because I am really interested in ways to prevent cyber-bullying from occurring, as well as suicide prevention. I hope to aim this project at high school to college aged students, mostly because those are the people on social networking websites, and in both cases, were the age range of Megan Meier and Phoebe Prince. My purpose for this project is to help bring awareness that cyber-bullying does exist, and that it can be stopped. I will probably be using the Internet as a main source of mine, because both of these cases are relatively new, one occurring in 2006, the other in 2010. Also, I am going to watch videos, such as Dr. Phil, and news clips of interviews and background stories of these two girls. Possible genres I might use will be poems, obituaries, diary entries, pictures, and websites.

What got me interested in majoring in education was some of the volunteer work that I did in high school.

Goal D: Students will be able to interpret and compose in a variety of genres and print/non-print media.

This flyer uses both print and non-print media because it includes text and images. I used both text and images in this genre to make an argument about stopping school violence. I chose images from the Columbine shooting that would appeal to pathos. I used text that would be informative about the event and also advocating for a cause.

Goal B: Students will be able to compose using language and conventions appropriate to genre.

For this obituary, I had to figure out what kinds of things get included in an obituary. I put information about the surviving family and the person's qualities and interests. I organized these in the same order as my models. I used language that was informative and positive. I included a photo of the person, and information about where services would be held.

Goal A: Students will be able to compose for particular audiences and purposes

In this genre, I changed the layout and the language to look and sound like an online article. This meant using professional alignment and formal language appropriate to an adult audience reading to find out what happened online.

Goal C: Students will be able to read, select, and use evidence critically to formulate and support arguments.

This genre fulfills the goal because I used evidence from my research to provide a neutral report. I wanted the article to show sympathy for the killers as well as the victims. For example, I gave information about how they had been picked on.

Goal E: Students will be able to discuss and apply writing processes both individually and in collaborative contexts

After peer review and comments from Dr. Sherry, I added to my revision sheet. I put the mistakes I made and how I fixed them so I could avoid making them again the next time I write that kind of genre. For example, I received feedback on my online article that helped me make it look and sound more like a news article by using neutral language.
